{"id":9,"date":"2023-09-07T01:40:07","date_gmt":"2023-09-07T01:40:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.coach-123.co\/2023\/09\/07\/management-evolution-to-executive-coaching\/"},"modified":"2024-01-04T18:51:29","modified_gmt":"2024-01-04T18:51:29","slug":"management-evolution-to-executive-coaching","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.coach-123.com\/coachingblog\/management-evolution-to-executive-coaching\/","title":{"rendered":"Management Evolution to Executive Coaching"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thinking back thirty years, managers had the approach of \u201cI am the boss so what I say goes and if you don\u2019t like it you can leave.\u201d&nbsp; This was reframed so the understanding was that clearly the manager knew the best approach, and therefore they were to be respected and obeyed.&nbsp; Over time this became increasingly confrontational and abrasive, so the approach evolved to \u201cI will tell you what I think and you can tell me how you like my idea.\u201d&nbsp; While softer, it failed to engage.&nbsp; Next came \u201cI want your ideas and then I will decide.\u201d&nbsp; While this is definitely an improvement it is still lacking.&nbsp; Managers across the country are now learning the approach of executive coaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How does a manager take the approach of the executive coach?&nbsp; It begins with recognizing that the people doing the work are capable and probably even have a better understanding of how to make it work.&nbsp; This means managers learn to empower their employees.&nbsp; The more the managers get input and give the employees responsibility, the higher the productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Managers are now learning the approach of an executive coach and asking the employee what the possibilities are and asking the employee for their plan of action.&nbsp; When employees are empowered to think it through and choose their action steps, employee engagement is high, follow through is high, and productivity is high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">* Originally posted on #CenterforCoachingCertification by #CathyLiska.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Nowadays, managers empower their employees by collaborating with them in order to help the latter do their best work and improve their productivity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":10,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[69],"tags":[50,47,46,49,48,51],"class_list":["post-9","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-leader-employee-effectiveness","tag-coach-123","tag-coaching","tag-coaching-services","tag-coaching-success","tag-coaching-tips","tag-executive-coaching"],"aioseo_notices":[],"aioseo_head":"\n\t\t<!-- All in One SEO 4.9.8 -
